Growing up in Atlanta Lemon Pepper Buffalo wings were always a crowd favorite at parties and game nights. I was super excited to veganize this classic dish that so many people love. This is one of my most requested recipes among my family and friends. It's super simple and easy to make and I'm sure you and your family will love it!
This one of my new favorite recipes. It's one off those recipes you can depend on time and time again. It features a wet and dry batter to get the cauliflower nice and crispy. It's basically the same recipe as my Sriracha Fried Cauliflower Bites & Sriracha Cauliflower Tacos. It just has the addition of lemon pepper.
Here are a few tips for making this dish
Make the sauce first - Whenever you add hot sauce to fried foods it will make them soggy. So make sure you make the sauce first to give it some time to cool down before adding it to your fried cauliflower.
Use the right oil - You want to make sure you use an oil that has a high smoke point.. This will prevent your oil from burning. I like to use Avocado oil, Grapeseed oil or Vegetable oil.
Don't overcrowd the pan - As tempting as it is to make as much as you can at one time you must resist the urge to add too many pieces to the oil at once. Try to make sure there is at least 2 inches between each piece of food. This will keep the oil temperature from dropping and keep the food nice and crispy.
The Ranch Dressing
I've always hated blue cheese so I was completely against trying to veganize it so I just mixed 1/4 cup of Kite Hill Chive Cream Cheese Alternative with 2 tbs of vegan mayo and used that as a dipping sauce. It was delicious!
