Air Fried Rosemary & Sage Mushrooms

Updated: Mar 29, 2021

Air fryers have turned out to be the latest food appliance craze and for good reason. They make life and delicious foods incredible simple and easy to prepare. You can pretty much put anything in them like these rosemary sage mushrooms.

If there is one one kitchen appliance that I think everyone should own it's an air fryer. Especially if you have kids in the house. We can't stop using ours at home. My son uses it 2-3 times a day on his own. He makes French fries, toast, scallion pancakes and uses it to reheat food because we don't use a microwave. I especially love it on the days when I'm not in the mood to cook using my stovetop or oven. I was in the mood for mushrooms and I had the idea to roast them in the oven but I quickly changed my mind and tossed them in the air fryer for just 12 minutes and they came out perfect. I've used a few air fryers but my Philips XXL Air Fryer is my favorite. I've had it for 2 years now and has not failed me. It's a bit bulky which is why I purchased others but I always go back to it. It is huge so you can really cook a lot of food at one time and it really gets food nice and crispy in just minutes. Don't worry if you don't have an air fryer you can still make this recipe in the oven.

Cook Time: 12 Minutes

Serves 2-3 people

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 pounds of mushrooms sliced in half - I used baby portobello's

  • 3 tbs of extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/2 tbs of fresh rosemary chopped

  • 1 tbs of fresh sage chopped

  • 1 tsp of garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp of sea salt

  • pinch of black pepper

Preparation

  1. Toss all the ingredients in a large bowl and add into your air fryer.

  2. Set the air fryer temperature to 350*

  3. Set the timer for 12 minutes.

  4. Once the mushrooms are done add additional salt to taste.

If you don't have an air fryer you can place the mushrooms on a sheet pan and place them into a 400* oven for about 15 minutes.

Tip: Never wash your mushrooms under running water. It changes the texture and makes them slimy when cooked. Instead use.a wet kitchen towel to wipe of any dirt.

Tossing the mushrooms with oil, garlic powder, salt, sage and rosemary.

Never mind my crumby air fryer. This thing is used constantly lol.

Nothing to do with this recipe but next to my air fryer is vegan croissants from Whole Foods They are so damn good. My son just pops them in the air fryer for a few minutes to warm them up.

Check your local Whole Foods bakery for these and thank me later! Or should I say thank my sister Tia because she is my vegan ear to the streets lol. She always knows about all the vegan products she put me on to these. Make sure you follow he "Tia be knowin" group page here on Let's Be Vegan.

Here's the exact air fryer that I use:
